Teacher of the Week - Mrs. Loretta Boyne
Our second Great American Teacher of the Week winner for 2008 was Loretta Boyne, an intervention specialist and special education teacher. Julie Gerke nominated Mrs. Boyne for the additional help she has given her son, Jacob.

The Gerkes had this to say in the nomination letter:
Mrs. Boyne has spent many school and personal hours helping Jacob and us understand his learning disability and find the best way to help educate him. His grades are up, and his self confidence is great. Mrs. Boyne has been a great asset in our lives. She gives her students something they may not have had if it wasn't for her.
Mrs. Boyne was surprised with the award during a classroom visit. "I love these kids," she said. "Their happiness and education is what's important to me, and I'm honored to hear such kind words."
Congratulations Mrs. Boyne!
