home. The remaining 85 percent are provided in the home, assisted-living
facilities, or adult daycare centers.1

Variety of Care
Within these settings there can be three types of care:

Skilled care is 24-hour prescribed care provided by licensed medical
professionals.

Intermediate care is prescribed care that can be provided on an intermediate
rather than continuous basis.

Custodial care assists you with performing everyday activities such as bathing,
dressing, and eating.
