Teacher of the Week - Wendy Furman
On March 21, we honored another Great American Teacher of the Week winner. Wendy Furman, a third grade teacher at Caywood Elementary, was nominated by Stacey Morrison whose son, Tanner, is in her class.

Morrison had this to say in her nomination:
Not only is Tanner's reading ability improved, he's taking spelling tests and passing with flying colors. Mrs. Furman has not only improved his educational skills, but she has improved his self-esteem and self confidence. And, he actually enjoys going to school now. She truly is a committed and loving teacher.
Mrs. Furman said that the surprise classroom visit was a shock. "I'm so grateful to everyone, my students, the great staff and administration we have here and Great American," she said. "These are such great kids that they make teaching a joy."
Congratulations Mrs. Furman!
