Social Contract
Associates from across the Company developed our Social Contract. This document, signed by GAFRI associates and reproduced below, outlines the principles that guide us in our interactions with colleagues.

Take a Closer Look: Watch Our "Social Contract" Video
Our Social Contract puts GAFRI in a league of its own; few, if any, other companies have committed themselves to such a unique agreement. Get a more personal understanding of how the Social Contract impacts our everyday working relationships with each other. View our "Social Contract" video* to listen to our associates talk about what the Social Contract means to them.

We are the people of Great American Financial Resources. We know that an environment shaped by trust and mutual respect is important to our personal satisfaction and to the success of our company. In order to maintain healthy relationships, we agree to abide by this Social Contract.

We will:

  • Communicate openly and honestly with one another.
  • Listen to each other’s concerns and ideas with attentiveness and empathy.
  • Provide positive feedback and constructive criticism when appropriate.
  • Promote teamwork in our work groups and across the company.
  • Encourage and assist each other when opportunities arise.
  • Respect and value one another, appreciating individuality and diversity.
  • Act with sensitivity and patience in a non-judgmental manner.
  • Honor the confidences of others.
  • Foster a fun, friendly, and professional workplace.
  • Hold ourselves accountable for our behavior.

We know we will not always agree on business decisions, and that such disagreements are a normal part of a dynamic work environment. However, when we live by this Social Contract, such disagreements should not diminish our personal relationships and mutual respect. If our personal relationships become strained, we will address the causes directly with the other person and make every effort to restore a healthy relationship. If we are unable to resolve a personal issue on our own, we will resolve it by involving an unbiased third party, such as a manager or Associate Relations representative.

We each pledge our support for this Social Contract and commit our personal efforts to uphold it in our daily lives.
